FAQs
Frequently asked questions for real estate agents and brokers interested in becoming a Referral Associate:
  • What is a Referral Agent?
A Referral Agent a licensed real estate agent whose services are limited to referring clients for the purposes of commencing a real estate transaction. They do not actively solicite or engage in the sale of property.
  • How do I know if I should join?
  • If you do not actively sell real estate but want to maintain an active license, we are perfect for you. You may still refer your family, friends and customers to any real estate agent or brokerage throughout the world. If you do not know an agent in the area desired, we will assist you in finding a professional one that will treat your referral like gold. The referral fee will be split with you on an 80-20 basis where you will receive 80%.
  • What is National Realty Referral?
We are a new business model created to provide agents the opportunity to work at their own pace, retire or just leave the business with a system in place to protect all the hard work and investment they have made in the real estate industry. Our agents and brokers maintain the ability to generate income through referrals. It is suitable for licensees who do not want to actively work in real estate but want to keep their license active and generate income.

  • Do I have to refer to a specific agent?
No, you can refer your business to any real estate agent or brokerage you want to in the world.

  • Do I have to join the local MLS, Real Estate Board or NAR?
No. Agents who join National Realty Referral are not required to be REALTOR® members. If you wish to maintain your REALTOR® status please contact us directly to discuss your options.

  • Do I have to continue to take CE Education?
Yes. Agents who join are required to keep their license active which includes taking the required CE education for renewal.
  • Are there other hidden costs?
Our cost to you is a yearly membership fee which covers holding your license from January 1st through December 31st. There is an initial license transfer fee ($20 for DE, $20 for PA) and for each referral transaction there is a $50 Transaction and E&O fee. That's it! No other fees!
  • Can you give an example of how the referral fee works?
You can generate income by referring to any actively licensed practicing agent in any state or country, negotiate your referral fee (the average is 25%), and keep 80% of the fee earned (minus a $50 E&O transaction fee). For example: You refer a buyer to an agent and negotiate a 25% referral fee. That agent sells them a home for $250,000 and was paid a 2.5% commission ($6,250). That agent's broker then pays National Referral Real Estate the negotiated fee of 25% (or $1,562.50). Minus the E&O transaction fee of $50, you get paid 80% of that ($1,210).

  • What if I decide to go back into selling Real Estate?
Just call or email us to mail your license to your state and simply file a new transfer application signed by your new broker.
